Steel cut oat flakes is a power food as its an excellent source of protein, soluble and insoluble fiber and select vitamins and minerals with a low glycemic index. Our oats are grown in the UP belt with minimal processing involved.
The difference between rolled and steel cut oats is how much the oat groat has been processed. While both contain whole grain oats, they are processed differently. Rolled oats are steamed, rolled, steamed again and toasted, ending up as thin flakes. Steel cut oats are made from oat kernels that have been chopped into thick pieces. They look almost like rice that's been cut into pieces and take more time to cook than rolled oats.
Healthy Alternative for breakfast and snacks!
Usage: Oat flakes are mostly served as a popular, hot breakfast meal (oatmeal - a dish made by cooking oats with water, milk, or another liquid to soften them). In addition, they are a primary ingredient in a number of applications such as cookies, breads and granola.
