The fruit has good colour and good taste. Persimmons are naturally organic as they do not require any sprays or chemical inputs.
These are short and squat, and are shaped much like tomatoes. When they are orange, they’re ripe, and can be eaten like an apple. You can choose to keep the peel or scoop out the pulp. Once in a while you may find a small brown seed which you can remove. They can be eaten raw or cooked.
It can be used in salads , jams , compote, with your breakfast cereal, and also used in baking.
Enjoy this gift of autumn
