How Yellaki Bananas Are Ripened Naturally

Posted By Gautham PB on Thursday 14th August 2025

Yellaki bananas are harvested when they are mature but still unripe. This is a standard practice to ensure they reach you in the best condition without getting overripe during transit.

To help them ripen naturally, we typically place them in a closed chamber where we use a traditional method of lighting coconut coir. This generates mild heat, which creates the ideal environment for natural ripening—without using any artificial chemicals.

Depending on the weather conditions, we may also keep the bananas in a closed box to retain warmth and accelerate the ripening process gently. This method mimics the way bananas ripen in a natural, tropical environment.
