Red pumpkin also known as Lal bhopla. Mildly sweet in taste.
It can be :
- boiled or steamed until tender. used to make a soup or as cubes in soup.
- shredded/ diced and sauted - served as a dish by itself.
- shredded, could be served as a salad example - with walnut, rasin and cheese.
- grill them to include as part of a meal.
- can grate them in your doughs - to make pumpkin paratha
- use can use them with other vegetables in a coconut milk gravy
- it can be used in sambar, kootu in south indian style.
- it can be used in pumpkin chutney, or pumpkin raita too.
Good source of Vitamin A and Vitamin C
Hard protective cover gives them a longer shelf life.
Store cut pieces in the refrigerator.
