Coming from the same region and group in Kerala, this white pepper is more aromatic and spicier with a floral fruitish taste. White pepper tastes hotter than black but is less complex, with fewer flavors.

Uses: White pepper can be interchangeably replaced for black pepper uses, however, many use white pepper in light-colored dishes for aesthetic reasons

Did you know: Black and white peppers are both fruits of the pepper plant, but they are processed differently. Black peppers are picked when almost ripe and sun-dried, turning the outer layer black whereas in white peppers, the outer layer is removed before or after drying, leaving only the inner seed.
