Indian variety of this exotic fruit comes from the hills of Nilgiris. Just like lychee, once the exterior (which is slightly harder than lychee) of the fruit is peeled away, the tender, fleshy, delicious fruit is revealed. Dont eat the seed. Its taste is described as sweet and sour, much like a grape.

These are closely related to lychee. These comes from either kerala or kodaikannal. The flesh of the rambutan is translucent, white, or pale pink, and has a sweet, mildly acidic flavor, similar to lychee but slightly less aromatic. The flesh is juicy and tender, surrounding a single, large seed that is not usually eaten. Rambutans are rich in vitamin C, manganese, and other essential nutrients. They are also a good source of dietary fiber.

Rambutan contains a considerable amount of vitamin C – a nutrient that boosts immunity and flushes toxins out of your body. It also contains copper, an essential mineral to help with iron.
