Rs59
Qty :Viruapkashi Hill Banana is a rare indigenous crop of lower Palani Hills in Tamil Nadu. Deliciously sweet, it is commonly refered to 'Food meant for the Gods' It gets its name from the town of Virupakshi, located near Palani, where farmers would take their bananas on pack - ponies, to the weekly market. In fact, this specific banana variety is still offered at the Palani Temple as Panchamritham Pasad. A few deacades ago, this was on the verge of extinction and the Government also has recognized its specialty by granting them a GI (Geographical Indication) Tag in 2008. HB has now tied up with an organic farm Near Palani Hills to revive these amazing sweet bananas. The farm practices traditional and eco - friendly organic farming techniques such as using compost, mulching, green manures, bio - fertilizers/pest control like Panchagavya & Jeevamrutham.
