Multani Mitti is also one of the earliest substances to be used as a beauty mask.
It is a clay substance that is hugely popular for its healing action and improving the texture of the skin. This powder is very rich in magnesium chloride which helps to reduce pimples and also works as a cleanser and toner. Multani mitti faces packs are well known to exfoliate the skin and make it more radiant.
Application: Mixed with water, it can be used in place of soap to wash oily complexions. Made into a paste with rosewater and left on to dry, it makes an oil-absorbing and detoxifying mask suitable for oily and normal complexions. It is the basis of a traditional home remedy for acne which includes the use of rosewater and lemon juice.
