Should I refrigerate my tomatoes or not ?
- Best way is to store them is on your counter at room temperature. Allow unripe tomatoes to ripen outside on the counter.
- Unripe tomatoes lose their flavour and texture when stored in cold temperature. If they're ripe & you're planning to use them within a day or two they can stay on the counter.
- For prolonged storage of ripe tomatoes (beyond 1-2 days) refrigerate them.
1. If the tomatoes are yet to ripe
- Keep the stem side down, open on a flat surface until fully ripe.
- Store them at room temperature.
- Better to not stack them on top of each other.
- After they RIPE, use OR SHIFT to the refrigerator for prolonged storage (Use within 3 weeks ).
- If flies pose a problem, use a netted covering
2. If the tomatoes are ripe, soon to be used
- Keep the stem side down, open on a flat surface until fully ripe.
- Store them at room temperature.

3. If the tomatoes are ripe, not yet ready to use them
- Store them In the refrigerator
- Use a breatheable cover
- Thaw well before using.
- Better to locate them in veg crisper /on shelf nearer to the fridge door. (backside is colder)
- Can use within 3 weeks
