Interesting fact : This rice is said to be as good as adukkan variety but not as sweet as adukkan matta rice. Definitely belongs to the top wayanadan matta varieties .

People who prefer a lesser sweet matta should opt this rice .

Cooking instruction :

• The ratio of rice to water can be 1:3-4.

• Generally should be done with 4 pressure cooker whistles.

Like Adukkan this is best consumed as plain rice or as rice porridge. This can be considered as a higher quality rice compared to the other matta rice varieties available as it is rare and only cultivated by a few farmers and tribals in wayanad .
